Who runs this
2 Oct 2026
DMCN is just me, for now. Writing “we” on the rest of this site is just a convention. This project was born earlier this year out of the frustration with existing email and nothing quite solving the phishing and spam problems so far. And I don’t think it’s a problem spam filtering can solve.
In practice that means the reply to a support message comes from me, so there is no team to absorb a bad day on my behalf. My goal is to make this service simple enough that you don’t actually need me. But for the times where I haven’t quite met that objective, please do reach out to me directly, or through support@dmcn.email.
The protocol is published and available to everyone and anyone, the reference server is Apache-2.0, so if you have your own domain, you can run exactly what you need to have your DMCN email working without me and without this service.
I can’t make any promises, but my intention is to keep building this out into a well established product and company. And have the protocol become a new standard for email communication. That’s an ambitious task that has to start somewhere, and that’s where I am now. Right at the beginning.
You can write to Merten van Gerven directly at merten@dmcn.email.
